তুলসী তত্ত্ব

হিন্দু ধর্মাবলম্বীদের কাছে গুল্মজাতীয় খর্বাকার উদ্ভিদ তুলসী গাছ অতি পবিত্র বিবেচিত। সম্ভবত একারণে তুলসী গাছ নেই এমন হিন্দুবাড়ী পাওয়া যাবে না। হিন্দুবাড়ীর তুলসী গাছগুলোর গোড়ায় ত্রিসন্ধ্যা জল ও আরতী পায়। এছাড়াও প্রতিদিনের গৃহ দেবতার পূজোয় বা ভোগে তুলসী পাতা, মঞ্জুরী ব্যবহার করা হয়।

তুলসীর অতি পবিত্র বলে হিন্দু শাস্ত্রাদিতে বর্ণিত আছে “যারা প্রত্যহ তুলসীর দর্শন, স্পর্শন, ধ্যান, গুণ কীর্তন, প্রণাম, গুণশ্রবন, রোপন, জল প্রদান ও পূজা এই নয় প্রকারে তুলসীর ভজনা করেন তারা সহস্র কোটি যুগ পর্যন্ত বিষ্ঞুলোকে বসতি লাভ করেন”।

তুলসী পাতা এতই পবিত্র যে, এটি একমাত্র পরমেশ্বর ভগবান শ্রীবিষ্ঞুর পাদপদ্দ ব্যতীত অন্য কোন দেবতা বা দেবীর চরনে তুলসীপাতা অর্ঘ্য হিসাবে দেয়া যায় না। অবশ্য লক্ষ্মীদেবীর পুজোয় তুলসী পাতার প্রয়োজন হয় না। এছাড়া সকল দেবতা দেবী পূজোর ভোগে তুলসী পাতা ও মঞ্জুর অত্যাবশ্যক। তুলসী পাতা ভিজানো জল ছটা গৃহাদি পবিত্র করনের কাজে ব্যবহার করা হয়। গভীর ধর্মীয় আঙ্গিকে হিন্দু সমাজে তুলসী গাছের এতো মহিমা প্রচার করে এবং তদানুযায়ী এর পূজন ও যত্ন করা হয়।
